  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • Water (as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • For the filling:
  • 1 cup of chana dal (split Bengal gram lentils)
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon of green chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Oil (for tempering)
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  1. Rinse the chana dal thoroughly under running water.
  2. Soak the chana dal in water for about 2-3 hours.
  3. Drain the water and transfer the soaked chana dal to a pressure cooker.
  4. Add ginger paste, green chili paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt to the pressure cooker.
  5. Pour enough water to cover the dal and pressure cook for about 3-4 whistles or until the dal is cooked and soft.
